LIONS BAY BUILDING LOT
For those of you new to Vancouver and/or to Lions Bay and the Sea to Sky corridor, Lions Bay is a lovely village sitting about 10K North of Horseshoe Bay, on the “new” Sea to Sky Highway overlooking the beautiful Howe Sound. There are only a handful of lots in the Village that are yet unbuilt upon, and perhaps none to
my knowledge that are for sale with views offered by this lot.
This lot sits above the highway, about 750 feet above the Howe Sound, and has breathtaking views. There is no noise from the highway because it is up so high. Gorgeous sunsets, and it's like a postcard when the ferries are running off in the distance. The lot below this one is owned by the Village (it will never be built on, that’s very important), so you are assured of maintaining a fabulous view because the Village permits removing and topping of trees on Village property. An application is currently pending to remove any trees obstructing views, and will be acted on shortly. Other lots, even if for sale, have no view because adjoining landowners refuse to cut down trees on their own property. That will never happen here.
The lot is about 1/3 acre, and the Village Council has previously approved plans for a lovely home, the plans for which you can view. That approval would avoid all the necessities of getting approvals for a new home. I live right next door at 305 Oceanview, so if you would like to learn more, please stop by.
With the new Winter Olympic Highway, driving to West Vancouver or downtown Vancouver is now a breeze. You can be in West Vancouver in 10 minutes and downtown Vancouver in 20 minutes, yet still feel the privacy and beauty of the Village, the Howe Sound, and the surroundings of the Coastal Mountains as if you are in the middle of nowhere. The best of both worlds. And Whistler is now less than an hour North for sports enthusiasts.
The Village boasts 2 beaches, a marina if you have a boat; numerous hiking trails trails, a volunteer fire department with emergency “911” health response; a tennis court; a spa; and a nice café, general store, art gallery and a full post office for incoming and outgoing mail.
